The annual Aayilyam Mahotsavam at the Adimoolam Vetticode Sree Nagaraja Swami Temple near Kayamkulam will be celebrated from September 18 to 25.

Special poojas, rituals and cultural programmes will be held on these days. The Aayilyam Ezhunnallathu or ceremonial procession of Sree Nagaraja Swami from the sanctum sanctorum to the Meppallil Illam will be held at 3 p.m. on September 24. The ‘Sarpabali' rituals will be held at 7 p.m. and the ‘Noorum Palum' ceremony will be held at noon on September 25, according to N. Parameswaran Namboodiri, chairman of the temple trust.

The KSRTC will operate special bus services from various depots to Vetticode in connection with the festival.
