Former Planning Commission member and economist Mihir Shah will deliver the first Sujatha Devi Memorial Lecture at Maharaja’s College on July 21 at 11 a.m.

An expert on water resources management and rural development, Dr. Shah’s lecture will focus on ‘Rhythm of Life: A Framework for Development and Politics in 21st Century’.

The lecture will explore the water crisis facing 21st century Kerala, of recurrent droughts and floods which compel a deeper introspection on development and politics in the State and across the country.

Writer Priya A.S. will outline the vision of ‘Remembering Sujatha Teacher Collective’, which is organising the lecture. Journalist M.G. Radhakrishnan will talk about Sujatha Devi, who was a poet, teacher, environmentalist and travel writer.

Actor Maala Parvathy will offer felicitations. For details, call Sadasivan (9447221815) or Mathew (9995700201).
