Theatre adaptation of two short stories by noted Malayalam writers Uroob and Kovilan will soon be staged in the city.

‘Padachonte Choru’ by Uroob and ‘Nilavilakku’ by Kovilan will be performed at TDM Hall at a theatre evening organised by Bank Employees Arts Movement, Ernakulam on June 17 at 6.30 p.m.

The works were selected for the programme in view of Uroob’s birth centenary and Kovilan’s fifth death anniversary, BEAME programme secretary A.N. Raveendran said.

The famous story, ‘Padachonte Choru’, is a satire while ‘Nilavilakku’ is a touching portrayal of social and religious harmony.

Along with these, ‘Maranasiksha’ by Ashtamoorthy will also be presented as a play.
