Swasraya Bharat 2019, a mega science expo organised by Swadeshi Science Movement, will be held at Marine Drive here from November 23 to 26.

From showcasing latest technologies in underwater surveillance system to dialogues on climate crisis, the event will witness the participation of various science and technology organisations in the country.

Some of the participating agencies include Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Cochin Shipyard, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, and Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services.

V.N. Sanjeevan, president of Swadeshi Science Movement and Emeritus Chair of Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies, said that the State must step up its preparedness to meet the growing challenge of climate change and extreme weather conditions. The floods this year and in 2018 had proved that Kerala would have to gear up to meet such challenges in the future, he said.
