KPCC president Mullappally Ramachandran has sought a probe into the seizure of answer sheets and an office seal of the Physical Education Director during a raid at the house of an SFI leader in the wake of the alleged stabbing of a student at University College in Thiruvananthapuram last week.

Speaking to the media here on Monday, he alleged that even the houses of SFI leaders functioned like parallel Kerala Public Service Commission. Even a constitutionally-created body was under a cloud of suspicion. Embarrassingly, the recovery of official material was from the house of a prime accused in the attempt to kill a student on the campus, he said.

Mr. Ramachandran urged Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to come clean on the issue and establish the rule of law in the State. The Chief Minister is reluctant to take stern action as he himself has a criminal past, the Congress leader alleged.

He said campuses in the State had turned into havens of anti- social activists. Some gangland leaders in cities are former student leaders. The SFI, which is controlling the drug mafia on campuses, is a disgrace and threat to the State, he said.

The KPCC president also demanded a CBI probe into the suicide of NRI businessman Sajan Parayil in Kannur. The case necessitates a probe by the Central agency as the State Police favour the LDF government, and investigators will not give an honest report.

He alleged that the CPI(M) State committee was preparing a script on the suicide of Sajan who failed to get an occupancy certificate from Anthoor municipality for constructing a convention centre. That script will be the police report, Mr. Ramachandran said.
