A Division Bench of the Kerala High Court on Tuesday observed that Rapid Action Force (RAF) or National Disaster Response Force could not be entrusted with the task of managing the crowd along Pathinettampady at Sabarimala.

The Bench comprising Justice T.R. Ramachandran Nair and Justice P.V. Asha while dismissing a petition filed by Save Holy Pamba Project and YLTP-Art of Living Foundation observed that these forces had been tasked with the job of protecting temple and other sites.

The court observed that the service of the police at Sabarimala was exemplary and they were managing the crowds efficiently.

In his report, K. abu, Sabarimala Special Commissioner, said that the present system of crowd management by the police was effective and successful.
