Over 24 lakh voters are expected to exercise their democratic rights at 2,251 polling stations across the district on Tuesday.
There are 594 polling stations in the urban areas and 1,657 in the rural areas of the district. The distribution of polling materials was over by Monday evening, according to officials. There will also be all-women polling stations in all Assembly constituencies in the district. Women police officers are in charge of the security aspects at these polling stations.
Police personnel numbering 4,179 led by 18 DySPs are in charge of the security aspects. Rest rooms and feeding rooms have also been arranged at all polling stations. Voting will begin at 7 a.m.
