Members discuss scope for boosting ties

A six-member delegation of the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) headed by its Director General (Operations), Commodore Khamis Salim Sulaiman Jabri, visited the Southern Naval Command on Thursday.

The delegation is on a five-day tour of India.

During their visit, the delegation called on the Chief of Staff of the Southern Command, Rear Admiral R.J. Nadkarni, and discussed the scope for further improving the cooperation between the two navies. They also visited the Navigation and Direction School, Signal School and the Water Survival Training Facility at the Naval Base and interacted with the four RNO trainees at present undergoing training at various units of the command.

The delegation is set to depart from Kochi on Friday for INS Shivaji, the Marine Engineering training establishment at Lonavala, where they are scheduled to spend a day.
