: Current trends in anti-ship missile technology, naval weapon systems, magazine design, space based weapon technology and missile inventory management techniques were among the topics discussed at the ‘Gunnery Symposium - 2015’ organised by the Navy on Wednesday.

The chief guest of the symposium, held at INS Dronacharya, the Navy’s ‘Center for Excellence in Gunnery and Missile Warfare’, was Vice Admiral SPS Cheema, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command.

The main theme of the symposium was ‘Emerging Trends in Naval Gunnery’. Several papers were presented during the day-long event.

The Gunnery Symposium is held once every three years to provide a platform for experts from the field to highlight research on matters related to naval gun and missile systems to an audience comprising high ranking officers and 'Gunnery' specialists from the staff and frontline ships of the Indian Navy, said an official release.
