National meet on transfusion medicine from today

The seventh national conference of the Indian Society of Transfusion Medicine will be held here from Friday.

Transfusion medicine is a branch of medical science dealing with blood-related illnesses and initiatives like blood donation and collection of blood cells and stem cells.

The three-day meet, being held at Hotel Grand Hyatt, Bolgatty, aims to coordinate the services of all branches of medical science for the good of patients.

Prior to the meet, an international workshop will be held on Thursday at Amrita Institute of Medical Science (AIMS).

Dr. M.K.C. Nair, Vice Chancellor, Kerala University of Health Sciences, will inaugurate the conference on Friday. Dr. Susheela Inna, Jubilee Mission Hospital, Thrissur; Dr. Veena Shenoy, AIMS, and Dr. Mohandas Murugeshan, Malabar Cancer Centre, will lead the conference.
