: Tremors that shook Afghanistan on Monday afternoon was felt just at Kaloor unlike previous earthquakes in North India and Nepal, which were felt in multiple areas of the city. Staff of a private radio channel put up in the fifteenth floor of a building at Kaloor claimed to have felt the vibrations around 2.30 p.m. “I felt some dizziness and even found the table vibrating a bit. Then we vacated the floor on foot without taking the lift. At best, it lasted for a few minutes,” one of the staff members said.
Shekhar L. Kuriakose, member of the State Disaster Management Authority and head scientist of State Emergency Operations Centre, said that it was usual for Kochi to feel the vibrations, especially in the case of deep and high magnitude tremors, he said. District Disaster Management Authority sources said that they didn’t receive any reports of vibrations, except for media reports.
