#Future, the upcoming Global IT Summit to be held in Kochi next month should be turned into a platform for envisioning the future and how Kerala can play a big role in the unfolding scenario, Kris Gopalakrishnan, ex-CEO and co-founder of Infosys, has said.

Delivering the keynote address at a ramp-up event held here on Wednesday, Mr. Gopalakrishnan said that it was important to activate all networks at our disposal to achieve the goals set out by the first ever global IT summit.

Leveraging networks was the key to create a platform for a digital future, he said.

“The digital summit is a platform for us to think about the future, imagine how the future would look like and how we can play a role in creating that future. If we set this platform, it will help us bring people to experience Kerala in its full potential. The more people participate, the stronger will be the network and it’s exponential,” said Mr. Gopalakrishnan, a member of the High Power IT Committee.

Kerala’s first-ever global IT summit, #Future, will be held on March 22 and 23 at Le Meridien Hotel in Kochi, where over 30 speakers will share their expertise.

Speaking on the occasion, Joseph Korah, chief digital technology officer-EAS, Cognizant Technology Solutions, said that though Kerala had missed the enterprise computing wave for the past 15 to 20 years, it now stood the chance to overcome all the hurdles with the immense talent, creativity and design experts that it has.

Hrishikesh Nair, Cheif Executive Officer, IT Parks, Kerala, and Rajesh Nair, HPIC member and executive director of markets, Ernst and Young, were also present.

Around 2,000 professionals, entrepreneurs, academicians, key influencers and other stakeholders from across the globe are expected to participate in the summit.

Around 100 company heads and industry representatives would also attend the event.

Nandan Nilekani, non-executive chairman, Infosys; Raghuram Rajan, former Reserve Bank of India Governor; Vijay Shekhar Sharma, founder of Paytm; and Gita Gopinath, Professor, Harvard University; will be among the key speakers at the event.
