Finance Minister T.M. Thomas Isaac will inaugurate an event marking the roll-out of Goods and Services Tax (GST) at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium at Kaloor on July 1 at 3 p.m.
Minister for Education C. Raveendranath will preside over the event. K.V. Thomas, MP; P.T. Thomas, MLA; Mayor Soumini Jain; Pullela Nageswara Rao, Chief Commissioner of Central Excise, Customs and Service Tax, Kerala Zone; and Minhaj Alam, Secretary, Department of Taxes, will be among those to speak on the occasion.
Mr. Isaac will participate in the technical session to be held at 4 p.m. Traders will have an opportunity to interact with officers of the commercial taxes department and the Central Board of Excise and Customs. Expert panellists will talk about the problems encountered during the shift to GST and Central GST Act.
MLAs from the district, Deputy Mayor T.J. Vinod, and representatives of the Vyapari Vyavasayi Ekopana Samithi, Ernakulam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Merchant Chamber of Commerce will also be present.
