A team of 18 IAS officer trainees from the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie, visited the Southern Naval Command in the city on January 28 and 29 as part of their winter study tour. Commodore G. Prakash, Commanding Officer of INS Venduruthy, spoke to them on Indian maritime security and the role of Indian Navy in the 21st century.

The trainees visited the Water Survival Training Facility; Damage Control Training Facility simulator; INS Dronacharya (Gunnery School), and the Maritime Museum. They also got to see the amphibious vessel Magar up-close.
