Gold worth ₹25 lakh seized

Customs officials at the Cochin International Airport seized gold worth ₹25.37 lakh from various passengers over the past one week. An official release issued here said a case had been registered against a travel company for exchange of Indian currency beyond permissible limits at the departure side of the airport. These seizures were made under the provisions of the Customs Act. The gold items were concealed in checked-in and hand baggage of the passengers, according to the release.
