A high-level team from German Development Bank KfW will arrive here on Friday for an appraisal-cum-site visit, prior to sanctioning Rs. 624 crore loan to modernise waterways in the greater-Kochi region.

The bank had offered to provide a long-term loan at less than 2 per cent interest rate. It would take a final call on the issue after its final mission in August, Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) sources said. French development assistance agency AFD too had offered to fund the project.
