No casualties have been reported yet; cause of the fire unknown

A fire broke out in a six-storey footwear godown near the busy South Railway station on Kalthiparambu Road here on Wednesday morning. Over 20 fire tenders were sent to the spot.

Efforts are underway to bring it under control. No casualties have been reported yet. Two fire tenders sent by the Navy are on standby.

However, the cause of the fire is unknown. City Mayor Soumini Jain and legislator P.T. Thomas were at the site, overseeing firefighting operations.
