A stationary shop at Mather Bazar in Broadway was damaged in a fire that broke out at around 10 p.m. on Friday.

The fire was spotted by the owners of the shop even as they were preparing to end the day's business. The materials stocked in the room were damaged in the fire. Around 30 Fire and Rescue personnel led by District Fire Officer Joe Kuruvila Easo brought the fire under control. Fire tenders from Gandhi Nagar, Club Road, Thripunithura, Thrikkakara and Mattanchery were summoned for the fire control measures.
