The State Election Commission has issued detailed directions for conducting rehearsals for counting supervisors and counting assistants. Classes will be held in the district on October 29 and 30. Returning offices for block panchayats should make arrangements for conducting rehearsals for three-tier panchayat while returning officers for municipalities should hold rehearsals in municipalities.
Service of block-level Electronic Voting Machine resource persons should be availed of for conducting rehearsals. Besides, the service of returning and assistant returning officers of grama panchayats should also be enlisted.
Political parties should comply with the guidelines issued by the State Election Commission while setting up temporary party offices.
Offices should not be set up encroaching public space or in the vicinity of places of worship, educational institutions or hospitals. They should also not be within 200 meters of a polling station.
