Counting centres fixed

Counting centres for the local body polls in the district have been fixed.

Maharaja’s College auditorium will be the counting centre for Kochi Corporation. Government Sanskrit College will be the counting centre for Tripunithura municipality whereas the municipal office itself will be the counting centre in Muvattupuzha municipality.

In Kothamangalam municipality, the Town Upper Primary School will be the counting centre. In Perumbavur municipality votes will be counted in the municipal library hall and the reading room. Government Girl’s Higher Secondary School will be the counting centre in Aluva municipality, the municipal town hall in Kalamassery municipality, and Government Higher Secondary School in Paravur municipality.

Municipal office building will be the counting centre in Angamaly municipality, Guardian Angels UP School in Eloor, Model Engineering College in Thrikkakara and Gregorian Public School in Maradu. In the newly formed Piravom and Koothattukulam municipalities, MKM High School and Marygiri Public School respectively will be the counting centres.

Votes cast to grama panchayats will be counted in various institutions within the limits of the block panchayats under which they fall. Similarly, counting centres will be set up in various grama panchayats for counting votes of the block panchayats.
