District Collector K. Mohammed Y. Safirulla has ordered the departments concerned to take emergency steps to ensure smooth traffic along Kundannoor Junction where work on the flyover is progressing.

Mr. Safirulla visited Kundannoor on Thursday night accompanied by officials of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the Public Works Department (PWD).

He said that the work on the flyover would be reviewed once in every fortnight.

The PWD will soon complete work on slabs along the road where vehicles from Thripunithura turn to Aroor. This will enhance the width of the road by around two metres.

Steps will also be taken to rearrange electric posts in the area.

Mr. Safirulla said that potholes at Kundannoor Junction would be filled within a week.
