Political skeletons are tumbling out of the cupboards in social media with a heavy dose of sardonic humour, as electioneering gathers steam in the State.

Actor Suresh Gopi, who is reportedly tipped to become a Rajya Sabha member, was the centre of political troll for the past few hours. The latest one that is trending in WhatApp groups is a photo from the archives of some Congress supporters. It featured the actor, holding his baby in his hands, and his wife, posing for a photograph with Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

A short clip of a police officer portrayed by the actor shouting at a Rajya Sabha MP in the movie Tiger and accusing him of scared of facing people in election and seeking backdoor entry to power is also being widely circulated. Irked by the post, pro-BJP sympathisers shot back by pointing out that it was a pro-CPI(M) writer who penned the dialogues.

The day also witnessed someone with a good archive system and sense of history reportedly digging out a college union election notice featuring M.V. Nikeshkumar, the CPI (M) candidate contesting the Azhikode Assembly constituency. Going by the sepia-toned notice, the candidate had contested a college union election as a KSU candidate.

As the veracity of the social media posts are often challenged, no one reads much into the posts but leaves them behind with a hearty smile; indeed an advisable approach during election time.
