The Kerala High Court on Friday orally observed that investigation agencies such as the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) should be accorded autonomy so that it could conduct an independent investigation.
Justice Alexander Thomas observed that the VACB should be accorded independent power just like the CBI.
The court made the observations when a writ petition filed by the All Kerala Anti-Corruption and Human Rights Protection Council seeking a court-monitored bar bribery case probe came up for hearing.
