The Crime Branch team, which is conducting further probe in the actor assault case, is set to interrogate court officials in connection with the alleged illegal access of the memory card bearing the visuals of the alleged assault.
The investigation team had approached the principal sessions court where the trial of the case is under way with a request to question the court sheristadar, evidence clerk, and other officials, if needed.
The court, which had the custody of the memory card, had given the permission on April 4 according to a submission filed by the investigation officer before the High Court on April 7.
The permission was sought after the investigation team found that the memory card had been illegally accessed and its ‘hash value’ was tampered with during the custody of the court. (Hash value denotes a numerical value used to uniquely identify the data.)
Reportedly, it was also found that the date of last access was changed from February 18, 2017 to December 13, 2018 a petition filed by the CB before the High Court had said.
Earlier, the trial court had also directed the investigation officer to submit the details of the alleged illegal access of the memory card in a sealed cover.
The survivor in the case had also written to the Supreme Court and the Chief Minister expressing her concerns about the alleged leak of the visuals of the assault.
