Collector to take metro, bus to work

On Friday morning, District Collector K. Mohammed Y. Safirulla will leave his official car at the camp office as he sets out for civil station at Kakkanad.

He will pedal his way from the camp office near Durbar Hall Ground to the Maharaja’s College metro station from where he will take the metro train to Kaloor. From Kaloor, he will take a bus to the civil station. The Collector’s endeavour will be part of the latest edition of the Kochi Public Transport Day organised by the Centre for Public Policy Research (CPPR) in association with various agencies to promote the use of public transport among the public.

Free medical camp

A free medical camp for the public transport staff will also be held at the private bus terminal, Aluva. Anwar Sadath, MLA, will inaugurate the camp. Aster Medcity and Kochi on Wheels will partner the event.

The most frequent metro train passengers will be honoured with ‘Shreshta Sanchari Puraskaram’ at a meeting to be held in the evening. A.P.M. Mohammed Hanish, managing director of Kochi Metro Rail Limited, will be the guest of honour. Kerala Vyapari Vyavasayi Samithi will be the partner for the event.
