The 19th anniversary of the declaration that Kerala became a fully literate State is to be celebrated on Sunday. An official function will be held at Nedumbassery to mark the occasion.
Education Minister M.A. Baby and Fisheries Minister S. Sarma will participate. A few of the persons who had worked for the cause of literacy such as K. Sreedharan and M.K. Prasad will be honoured. Despite the creditworthy achievement, the dream of Keralites to have institutions of international standard remains unfulfilled.
