Union Minister for Indian Affairs Overseas Vayalar Ravi has called for coordinated efforts between the Centre and the States to tackle the menace of terrorism.
Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, Mr. Ravi said terrorism affected the country’s security as a whole, no matter where terrorists attacked, and hence, political differences had to be kept aside. Only then would Centre-State coordination move smoothly and in turn, effectively wipe out terrorism, he said.
Replying to queries on controversies surrounding the arrest of Soofiya Maudany, Mr. Ravi said the law should be allowed to take its own course. Anyone who had complaints should approach the court, he said.
The Union Minister also said that terrorism could not be attributed to one particular religion. Those who were attempting to do so should remember the Malegaon blasts and what had happened in Belgaum and Goa.
Terrorism should be seen in its entirety and dealt with in such a manner, he added.
Mr. Ravi was here to attend a private function.
