The Central Industrial Security Force recovered 5.7 kg of gold worth ₹1.91 crore from a garbage trolley at the Cochin International Airport on Tuesday.

A statement issued here on Wednesday said that the CISF personnel manning the airport security on suspicion stopped the trolley and recovered a few waist belts that were collected as part of the garbage from a flight that had arrived from Sharjah. The waist belts were later handed over to Customs officials, who identified the yellow clay substance inside the belts as gold, said the statement.
