50th anniversary of Amaravathy stir

The Kerala Karshaka Sangam and All-India Kisan Sabha will organise the 50th anniversary of the Amaravathy hunger strike that was led by A.K. Gopalan to protest the eviction at Ayyappancoil. Programmes will be organised at various venues in the district from June 6 to 17. June 6 will be observed as flag day and various programmes will be held on the day at Amaravathy. The valedictory function will be held at Ayyapppancoil, Kerala Karshaka Sangham district president N. Sivarajan and district executive member V.K. Soman said at a press conference.
