39 injured in bus accident

As many as 39 persons were injured in a bus accident at Mundakayam on the Kollam-Theni National Highway early on Thursday.

However, none is in a serious condition, according to the police.

The accident occurred around 7.30 a.m. at Chotty Junction when a speeding private service bus rammed another private bus, which had stopped at a bus stop, the police said.

Both the buses were moving in the same direction.

11 in medical college

Eleven persons have been admitted to the Kottayam Medical College Hospital.

Another five injured have been admitted to the Kanjirappally Taluk Hospital.

Others were discharged after administering first-aid.

A case has been registered.
