3.6 kg of ganja seized

June 09, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:39 am IST - KOCHI:

The police on Monday arrested a 32-year-old person and recovered 3.650 kilograms of ganja from his possession.

The accused was identified as Jiss Mon, a native of Angamaly. During a raid, the police seized the contraband kept inside his car. “He was caught red- handed while transporting the material near the Parakkulam church in Angamaly’’, officials said.

The accused used to buy ganja from Tamil Nadu at nominal rates and would then supply it to his ‘agents’ for sale at much higher rates. He has been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) and a follow-up investigation is on.
