The severed head of a man in his early 20s was found in the old town of Nalgonda in the wee hours of Monday. And the decapitated body was traced, about a kilometre away on the outskirts, the police reported.
The police identified the victim as Palakuri Ramesh Goud, a resident of Kanagal mandal, about 20 km from the town. He was a tractor driver. According to the police, the severed head of Ramesh was found at the flag post in Bottuguda, an area thickly populated by Muslims, early morning on Monday after the locals alerted them. Deputy Superintendent of Police S. Sudhakar along with his team who swung into action said several dog squads were employed to trace the body and the accused. Subsequently, at about 9.30 a.m. sniffer dogs found the decapitated body of the victim near Bharat Gas office, a kilometre away from the Bottuguda residential colony.
