Revenue records correction programme launched by the government will help find a permanent solution for the long- pending land issues and disputes and reduce friction among villagers.
Taking part in the Gram Sabha at Narsannapally in the district on Saturday, Special Chief Secretary, Revenue, B.R. Meena, expressed happiness at the overwhelming response from people in attending the records cleansing programme.
Mistakes are being rectified in the presence of land owners. In Narsannapally, in the survey scheduled for ten days from October 20, out of 706 records, 586 were purified till date, he said.

Interacting with the residents, Land Records Purification Mission Director Vakati Karuna said the process would come to an end by December.
When she asked the residents about the cooperation of officers and problems they are facing, they replied that everything was going on smoothly.
In his welcome address, Collector N. Satyanarayana said that out of the total of 473 villages in the district, the programme was started in 243 villages and was completed in 187 villages.
As many as 56 official teams were going from village to village and verified 2.57 lakh survey numbers so far. About 96% records were corrected, he said.

Mr. Meena along Ms. Vakati Karuna visited Narsapur village in Naryaakahed constituency on Saturday and examined the ongoing process of purification of land records.
Collector Manickaraj Kannan, Joint Collector Vasam Venateswarlu, legislator M. Bhupal Reddy, MLC Ramulu Naik and Market Committee chairman Bidakanne Hanaumanthu were also present on the occasion.
“Purification of land records commenced on September 15 and revenue officials are visiting every village to correct records. So far, we have regularised about 7 lakh Sada Bainamis there by correcting the ownership details. The Revenue officials will also keep a record of government land in villages and include government assets in the registry. The land records will be corrected after conducting Grama Sabha,” stated Mr. Meena, adding that new Pattadar pass books would be handed over to the owners in January 2018.
Mr Bhupal Reddy said that purification process will address the problems among farmers and make it easy to the government to identify genuine ones to extend the proposed ₹4,000 per acre financial assistance .
