Women outnumber men in Medak

Female to male voter ratio higher in six of 11 assembly constituencies

The erstwhile Medak district has more women voters than men, especially so in six of the total 11 assembly constituencies. As against 11,76, 732 female electors, the district has 11,75,755 male voters.

The constituencies include Sangareddy, Patanacheru, Andol, Zaheerabad, Narayankhed (Sangareddy district), Medak and Narsapur (Medak district), Siddipet, Gajwel, Dubbak and Husnabad (Siddipet district).

In Andol, the number of female voters stands at 1,09,695 as against 1,08,281 male voters, followed by Husnabad with 1,09,525 female voters as against 1,08,827 male voters.

The female to male voters ratio is higher in four other constituencies too: Siddipet with 1,03,385 women voters and 1,02,403 men voters; Dubbak 95,413 women voters and 92,543 men voters; Medak 1,00,234 women voters and 92,899 men voters; and Narsapur 1,01,281 female voters and 98,174 male voters.

Other constituencies have more male voters: Narayanakhed (1,03,051 men and 1,00,533 women); Zaheerabad (1,15,518 men and 1,12,394 women); Sangareddy (98,664 men and 98,547 women); Patancheru (1,41,033 men and 1,32,177 women) and Gajwel (1,14,362 men and 1,13,554 women).

Third gender voters’ figure stood at 177 in the erstwhile district with the highest in Patancheru (54) and none in Dubbak.
