Woman lodges complaint against husband

A woman on Wednesday approached the Cyber Crime police alleging that her husband posted her mobile phone number on an online classifieds portal with an intention to malign her image.

The woman in her complaint stated that her husband, Murali Krishna, who worked with a private company, was staying separately after developing differences with her. She said that she was receiving phone calls from persons who claimed to have gotten her phone number from a free advertisement portal. “The woman said that her husband posted her number under ‘Call girls’ category,” the police said.

Trader killed

for Rs. 200

A cloth trader was stabbed to death allegedly by his friend after an argument over Rs. 200 at Falaknuma on Tuesday night. The victim, Azam (30), of Roshan colony in Vattepally gave Rs. 200 a fortnight ago to his friend Mohammed to buy liquor for him, the police said. However, the latter spent the money for his personal needs and evaded Azam. When Azam ran into Mohammed at Pardagate in Vattepally on Tuesday evening, he demanded his money. “An argument ensued between them following which Mohammed stabbed Azam’s chest and throat,” Additional Inspector Falaknuma, M. Surender, said.

Six held for theft

Six youngsters who were allegedly stealing vehicles and snatching cell phones were arrested by the Gandhinagar police on Wednesday.
