Amid criticism from the Opposition parties on his silence over cash-for-vote scam and the phone-tapping controversy, Jana Sena Party founder and actor Pawan Kalyan said on Monday that he would give his views on the current developments very soon.

The actor, whose remarks have often stirred up controversies, tweeted that he would give his take on issues that were rocking Andhra Pradesh and Telangana — the ‘cash-for-vote’, phone-tapping and Section 8 of the AP State Re-Organisation Act in the next two days.

Known for his political outbursts, particularly on the social media platform, the actor tweeted on Monday that if required, he might call for a press conference by the end of the week or the beginning of the next week on these issues. Recalling elders saying that ‘Everything depends on the wisdom of the ruler’, he said, “let us see how our leaders’ wisdom takes us forward in the near future.”

On March 14, 2014, after his actor-brother K. Chiranjeevi merged his Praja Rajyam Party with the Congress, Mr. Pawan Kalyan officially launched the Jana Sena Party, briefly outlining his political plans. While he openly expressed support to the Bharatiya Janata Party and to Narendra Modi, he also made it clear that he would not hesitate to criticise the ruling BJP if its policies were found to be ‘not in the larger interests of people’ at any point.

Post the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and creation of Telangana on June 2 last year, the actor-turned-politician has off and on expressed his resentment over the bifurcation. He has criticised, albeit in a guarded tone, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on the issue of a new capital and simultaneously the Centre over a special package that it promised for developing the capital region.
