Water supply to be affected

Shutdown of power supply to 132 KV Peddapur feeder

Water supply will be affected in several areas on Thursday due to shutdown of power supply on 132 KV Peddapur feeder for attending the replacements of current transformers.

As a result there will be no power supply to pump water from Manjeera Phase III and IV of Peddapur pumping station.

During this shutdown period, the Water Board proposes to take 24-hour shutdown of the 1200 mm dia PSC gravity main from Khanapur to Shaikpet and Bhojagutta for making the junction works for shifting of 1200mm dia PSC pipeline crossing the ORR at two places near Kokapet village.

The shutdown period will be from 6 a.m. on Thursday to 6 a.m. on Friday.

Due to this shutdown there will be no water supply to the following areas on Thursday:

Areas under Khanapur reservoir and Shaikpet reservoirs: Tolichowki, Golconda, Hakeempet, Shaikpet, Dargah etc under Golconda and Tolichowki sections of O&M Division III.

Areas under Bhojagutta reservoir: Karwan, Mehdipatnam, Vijaynagar Colony, Kakatiyanagar, Golconda, Old Mallepally, MES under Mehdipatnam and Karwan sections and part of Allabanda section areas in Division IV

There will be short supplies to the following areas on Thursday:

Areas under Lingampally reservoir : (6 mgd shortage) areas of Division VI and Division IX. Bulk supplies in Division VIII (2 mgd shortage) and areas under Division XV ( 0.5 mgd shortage).

In a press release, the HMWSSB regretted the inconvenience.
