Police fire three rounds in the air

The last rites of irrigation expert R. Vidyasagar Rao, who died here on Saturday, were held with official honours at Amberpet crematorium on Sunday with his family members consigning the mortal remains to flames.

The final journey began at his residence in Habsiguda with his family members, relatives, friends, officials, and others following the hearse.

After three rounds were fired into air by the police in respect of the departed soul, Vidyasagar Rao’s son Venkataramana completed the last rites. Ministers T. Harish Rao, T. Srinivas Yadav, Press Academy Chairman Allam Narayana, vice-chairman of Mission Bhageerath V. Prashanth Reddy, Water Resources Development Corporation chairman V. Prakash, MPs C. Malla Reddy and B. Narsaiah Goud, CPI State secretary Chada Venkat Reddy, revolutionary singer Gaddar, legislators N. Laxman Rao, T. Rajaiah and several others attended the funeral.

Congress leader D.K. Aruna paid homage to the departed soul in Habsiguda.
