Two AI flights delayed, chaos at airport

October 31, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:36 am IST - HYDERABAD:

Chaos ensued at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport after two flights of Air India failed to take off on time. The Vijayawada-bound Flight AI-519, which was scheduled to depart at 3.50 p.m., developed a technical snag. As the airline was making alternative arrangement, the Hyderabad-Bengaluru flight AI-514 did not depart as per the scheduled time which was 5.05 p.m. Some of the irate passengers of the Bengaluru-bound flight picked up an argument with the airline staff after word got around that Bengaluru flight was being flown to Vijayawada. At 4.45 p.m., an alternative flight left for Vijaywada. Some of the passengers of the Bengaluru flight were put to great inconvenience as some of them missed international flights.

Air India spokesperson said that the Bengaluru flight was delayed due to re-allocation of flights.
