Two accused in murder case held

The Abdullahpur police on Tuesday apprehended two persons Mohammed Yaseen Khan alias Yaseen Lala and Mohammed Sohail Ali for their alleged role in the murder of a man who was married to Congress leader and former Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) corporator Khaja Bilal Ahmed’s first wife. Ahmed, the prime accused in the case, is absconding, said the police. Police identified the victim as Syed Aqeel.

They said that the two persons who were arrested are Mohammed Yaseen Khan alias Yaseen Lala and Mohammed Sohail Ali.

Three other persons were apprehended on June 11 and sent to judicial remand.

The accused allegedly kidnapped the victim on June 3 and took him in a vehicle to Majeedpur and attacked him with knives.

The victim, police said, sustained injuries on his neck, stomach and posterior.

A murder case has already been booked and further investigation is on.
