TSRTC driver suffers cardiac arrest

Tragedy struck at the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation’s Sakala Jana Bheri as a bus driver who had arrived in the city to attend the public meeting suffered a cardiac arrest.

The driver, Nagunooru Babu, was rushed to a private hospital near the venue where he breathed his last.

According to an official of the Karimnagar – 2 Bus Depot, Babu hailed from Guggilla village. He joined thae TSRTC in 1995. He is survived by wife, two daughters and a son.

“Not very long ago, he got one of his daughters married,” the official said.

According to TSRTC JAC leader Thomas Reddy, the incident took place after 5 pm at the venue, Saroornagar Indoor Stadium.

“We have sent his body back to Karimnagar. We have called for a Karimnagar bandh tomorrow,” Mr Reddy said.

According to TSTRC JAC leaders, since the strike began, this was the 15th death of an employee.
