With a ban on political graffiti and posters in public places, T-shirts and caps have become the most sought after medium for carrying the political message. A town-based entrepreneur, B. Sudhakar, is making a brisk business selling a range of election campaign products including T-shirts, caps and party flags by capitalising on the huge demand for the campaign merchandise from the political parties bracing for the upcoming electoral battle.

With the election campaign picking up steam, candidates of various political parties are making a beeline to the TEES Junction, a T-shirts production cum sublimation printing unit, owned by Mr Sudhakar to place orders for the campaign promotional products. T-shirts are the most preferred choice due to their affordable price in the range of ₹ 50 to ₹ 100 per piece.

The pictures embossed on the T-shirts through the sublimation printing process serves their purpose of publicising themselves and spreading their message to voters in the form of rallies in a cost-effective manner, he notes.

We have supplied T-shirts and caps to the participants of a 5K run organised by a town-based private hospital recently, he says, adding, “Our enterprising venture is providing livelihood opportunities to around ten unemployed youth trained in sublimation printing process.”
