The ruling TRS has said that it will counter the bandh sponsored by combined Opposition on Saturday with tours by its Ministers and MLAs in Assembly constituencies represented by MLAs of Congress, Telugu Desam, BJP and other parties to expose their failure in making use of the recent session of Assembly to highlight the problems of farmers.
Commercial Taxes Minister T. Srinivas Yadav told a news conference that there is no question of sparing the Opposition MLAs for their failure to utilise the two days allotted for debate on agriculture sector in the House. The TRS will ask public during the tours by its leaders whether it is not true that they received the benefit of government programmes.
Charge against Opposition
Mr. Yadav charged the Opposition with obstructing the good programmes conceived by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao. The bandh was called at a time when the government is planning one-time settlement of loan waiver for farmers. The government is also seriously considering how best to stop suicide by farmers. It is focussed on improving water and power supply to farmers.
