TRS, MIM MLAs bat for KCR moving to national politics

Say the country needs his leadership and his welfare programmes

Two TRS and MIM MLAs sprang a surprise in the Legislative Assembly on Sunday when they pitched hard for Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to move on to national politics as “country needs his leadership”.

Participating in a debate on the motion of thanks to Governor’s address in the House, TRS MLA Vemula Prashanth Reddy elaborated on “people-centric” initiatives launched by the Chief Minister in his first term in office. Several States took cue from the schemes that were implemented here and the Central government too was actively considering introducing schemes like Rythu Bandhu across the country.

“The Federal Front proposed by the Chief Minister is gaining traction at the national level. Mr. KCR should become the Prime Minister for ensuring implementation of welfare schemes across the country,” he said.

MIM legislator Ahmed Bin Abdullah Balala, who participated in the debate, said India needed a BJP and Congress-mukt (free) governance and the country needed the leadership of Mr. Rao.

The MIM MLA expressed concern over terse words used by the opposition parties in the run up to the recent elections and said people rejected them for using unparliamentary language against the Chief Minister. “Chandrudu (AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu) extensively campaigned in the election, but lost miserably,” he said.

He criticised the opposition parties for their claims on ‘MIM-TRS deal’ and said the two parties would go together in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections to ensure that the TRS bags 16 of the 17 Lok Sabha seats in the State and the MIM would wrest the remaining one.
