‘Transform classrooms into thinkrooms’

November 09, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:36 am IST - HYDERABAD:

Traditional classrooms in schools need to be transformed into ‘Thinkrooms’ with the student profile changing rapidly and the digital natives well-versed in using the gadgets with ease, said Chitra Ravi, founder of EZ Vidya.

Speaking to principals of various schools in the city, Ms. Chitra, who is an empanelled member to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), said that such an effort would help in building a ‘Meta Thinking’ student community for a strong and vibrant India of the future.

She said it may look like a gigantic task but with passion, commitment and a zeal for innovation it can be achieved by transforming five core segments of the teaching-learning domain.

The core segments include – Inside Classroom or Thinkroom Dynamics on a day-to-day basis; conducive learning ambience in our schools, both rural and urban with motivational pictures; technology integration in the teaching and learning domain; and professional development of educators notably school teachers, among others.
