Citizens in the Hyderabad district, who wish to register their names in the voters’ list, can call on the toll-free number 1800-599-2999 that will function from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. However, those from other districts can call on 1950, which is in the State Chief Electoral Office.

GHMC Commissioner Dana Kishore said 540 people have called on the toll-free number in GHMC so far with various enquiries.

The civic body has also started a facility in MyGHMC App where people can know the location of their polling booth by touching the ‘nearme’ option. The Commissioner also visited the indoor stadium at Victory Play Ground at Chaderghat to inspect the facilities for storing electronic voting machines.

Accompanied by Additional Commissioners, Musharaff Ali, Advaith Kumar Singh, and Jayaraj Kennedy, he enquired about the safety measures being taken by the engineering department officials in case of fire mishaps.

He said Generation-5 EVMS are being sent to Telangana by the Election Commission of India and they will have Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT).
