Three students en route to exam killed in road accident

Four persons, including three students, were killed on Saturday morning in a road accident near Shamirpet on the city outskirts.

The accident occurred when a private school bus, while overtaking a bus in the front, ploughed into two oncoming bikes between Lalgadi Malakpet and Jaganguda villages. Both bikes were carrying three persons.

Students, M. Naveen, M. Madhu and Y. Mahesh, on one of the bikes, en route to writing their supplementary SSC exams, were killed on the spot. The three were from Adraspalli village near Aliyabad.

Punyalu, who was sitting pillion on the second bike, driven by her husband, Sriramulu, suffered critical wounds and later died at the Gandhi Hospital. Sriramulu was admitted to the same hospital with a fractured leg. The third person travelling on their bike escaped with minor injuries.
