Kasarju Balakishan, 56, a teacher at the Zilla Parishad High School, Nakkalapally, in Narketpally mandal, was killed after the car he was driving rammed a truck ahead in Garidepally on Tuesday.
Police said Balakishan was at the wheel, and there were two other occupants – retired teachers Terla Amar and Shivangi Papa Rao, at the time of accident. The three were reportedly on their way to the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple, Mattapalli, for Karthika Purnima.
According to Sub-Inspector Meer Jaffar Baig, the accident took place at10.45 a.m. near Sammakka Sarakka hotel in Garidepally. And the cause of the accident remains unclear, as the car rammed a heavy truck parked on the extreme left of the road.
All the three had suffered injuries in the crash, but the impact was the most on Balakishan.
The police said that even as they were shifting the three injured in a autorickshaw to the nearest Nereducherla centre for medical emergency, Balakishan breathed his last.
Mr. Baig said the victim's body was shifted to Miryalaguda Area Hospital for postmortem. A case has been registered.
