Padma, 48, says husband harassing her physically and mentally

The Chandanagar police on Tuesday arrested Telugu Desam Party leader Muvva Satyanarayana, who contested from Serilingampally constituency during the Assembly elections in 2009, on charge of harassing his wife for additional dowry.

A case of dowry harassment was registered against him after his wife, Padma, 48, lodged complaint on February 17. A resident of Chandanagar, the woman charged that Satyanarayana was harassing her physically and mentally and demanding additional dowry.

The TDP leader was presented before a local court and remanded in judicial custody. The couple got married 27 years ago. They have a son and a daughter.
