TCS sets up facility for next-gen tech solutions

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has set up a Next-Gen Technology Solutions Centre of Excellence (CoE) in the city.

Announcing its launch on Tuesday, a release from the company said the new facility will focus on research and development of futuristic technologies and creation of next-generation products and solutions for its global customers in the semiconductors, devices and network space.

Spread across 10,000 sq ft and located at the IT major’s campus here, the CoE has a dedicated team of over 200 engineers.

“The primary focus of the Centre is on emerging communication technologies such as Software Defined Networks (SDN), Network Function Virtualisation (NFV), 5G and Wireless LAN (WLAN). Another area of focus is to create innovative technology solutions,” the release said. Vice-President and Global Head of Technology Business Unit V. Rajanna said with next-gen technologies set to play an integral role in the constantly connected world, the CoE will “work with our customers to co-create new solutions and frameworks”.
